The two main advantages of a tankless water heater is space and endless hot water. In some older homes, the existing water heater is located in a hall closet. Today, most customers are opting to install a tankless hot water heater in it’s place and make room for storage in the closet. As you can see from the picture, you end up with a lot more space. Don’t let the size fool you, these water heaters never run out of hot water. You also save money because your not heating water that sits in a tank like most traditional hot water heaters. If your budget allows for a tank-less water heater, take advantage of all they have to offer. Most cities now offer rebate incentives or fed tax credits for tank-less much like solar hot water heaters. You will need to fill out paperwork once we install your new Tank-Less hot water heater. You can do this on-line in most cities.
The electric hot water heater is not as common as gas fired water heaters. We find most electric water heaters in apartments where all the appliances are electric. The reason for this is the landlord does not have to pay for the hot water. The tenant pays their own electric bill therefore, they pay to heat the water. We recommend replacing the electric water heater with a gas or tank-less when the time comes for a new water heater.
Solar Water Heaters require routine maintenance to keep them operating efficiently. From time to time, the solar components may need repair or replacement. You also need to protect the unit from scaling, corrosion, and freezing depending your location. If you’re a handy person, you may do some of the maintenance yourself; some of the maintenance will require a skilled plumber. For some solar systems, it may be more cost effective to replace, shut off, or remove the solar system than to have it repaired. See if a solar water heater is right for you.
